  reflexive pronoun of first person, of me, of myself: only genitive, dative, and accusative singular, both masculine and feminine: not found in early Epic dialect; Aeolic dialect ἔμ᾽ αὔτῳ, ἔμ᾽ αὔτᾳ, Alcaeus Lyricus 72, Sappho Lyrica “Papyrus fragments” in E. Diehl, 15.11, compare Apollonius Dyscolus Grammaticus “de Pronominibus;” 80.10 ; ἐμαυτόν is uncertain in Xenophanes Poeta Philosophus (“PLG” 2p.116B.) and Anacreon Lyricus 64 ; Ionic dialect ἐμεωυτοῦ Herodotus Historicus 4.97 (but ἐμωυτοῦ Apollonius Dyscolus Grammaticus “de Pronominibus;” 74.4), ἐμεωυτῷ Herodotus Historicus 3.142, ἐμεωυτόν 1st c.AD(?): Heraclitus 101 ; ἐμᾱτοῦ, ἐμᾱτόν, “Lyrica Alexandrina Adespota” 4.23, “SIG” 741.12 (1st c.BC): in pl. always separated, ἡμῶν αὐτῶν, etc. ; ἐν ἐμαυτῷ συννοεῖσθαι in or with oneself, Euripides Tragicus “Orestes” 634; πρὸς ἐμαυτόν Aristophanes Comicus “Ranae” 53, etc.; strengthened, ἴσχυόν τ᾽ αὐτὸς ἐμαυτοῦ prev. author “V.” 357, compare “Lys.” 1125 ; but ἐν ἐμαυτοῦ (i.e. οἴκῳ) εἶναι, metaphorically, to be master of oneself, Plato Philosophus “Charmides” 155d: nom. ἐμαυτός, com. formation in Plato Comicus 78.
