  Attic dialect πρῴ (Hdn.Gr. 1.494, Scholia Aristophanes Comicus “Aves” 132, etc.), though codices commonly give πρῶϊ, πρωΐ, or πρῷ : adverb: (πρό):— early in the day, at morn, opposed to ὀψέ (accusative to Theophrastus Philosophus “de Signis Tempestatum” 9 , the forenoon, between ἀνατολή and μεσημβρία), πρωῒ (variant{πρῶϊ}) ὑπηοῖοι Ilias Homerus Epicus “Illiad” 8.530, al.: with gen., πρωῒ ἔτι τῆς ἡμέρης Herodotus Historicus 9.101; ἑκάστης ἡμέρας τὸ πρῴ Xenophon Historicus “Historia Graeca (Hellenica)” 1.1.30, compare “PSI” 3.402.10 (3rd c.BC): also πρῲ πάνυ Aristophanes Comicus “Vespae” 104 ; πρῲ τῇ ὑστεραίᾳ early next morning, Xenophon Historicus “Institutio Cyri (Cyropaedia)” 1.4.16; τὸ πρωῒ LXX.Gen.19.27; ἅμα πρωΐ NT.Matt.20.1; ἀπὸ πρωῒ ἕως ἑσπέρας NT.Act.28.23.
