  or ἀντίσχω, future ἀνθέζω; participle ἀντισχήσων (in sense 11) Libanius Sophista “Epistulae” 33.2: aorist ἀντέσχον:— hold against, with accusative et genitive, χεῖρ᾽ ἀ. κρατός hold one's hand against one's head so as to shade the eyes, Sophocles Tragicus “Oedipus Coloneus” 1651: with dat., ὄμμασι δ᾽ ἀντίσχοις (-έχοις codices) τάνδ᾽ αἴγλαν may'st thou keep this sunlight upon his eyes, prev. author “Ph.” 830 (Lyric poetry); τοὺς χαλινοὺς τῶν ἵππων Herodianus Grammaticus 5.6.7.
