(ὄπωπ-α, ὀφ-θῆναι, see at {ὄψ} B) eye, used by Homerus Epicus and Hesiodus Epicus mostly in plural; ὀφθαλμοὶ δ᾽ ὡς εἰ κέρα ἕστασαν.. ἀτρέμας ἐν βλεφάροισι Odyssea Homerus Epicus “Odyssey” 19.211: sg., παίειν τινὰ ἐς τὸν ὀ.
